Spare Propellers: Beginner flyers tend to crash a lot. It is part of the learning process. With that said, having extra props on hand always come in handy. In that way, if your break your propellers that may take place a lot, in the beginning, you will be able to change or replace them easily and quickly. Another great thing about the propellers is that they are color-coded making the installation process more accessible and less confusing.

So that, you will be able to fly other flyers without having to concern about meddling with each other’s connections. Nevertheless, later on, we will cover the quad’s transmitter in an in-depth review.

USB charging cable. Another impressive thing that we liked the most about this quad is that you can charge it your computer or laptop direct. Charging, on the other hand, may take about 40 minutes especially when the battery is completely dead.

Anti-Flip Mode

This review will not be completed without talking about the quad’s Anti-Flip Mode. However, what exactly this mode is? As the name implies, or in the simplest terms, it stops you from doing a single-button flip using your quad.

If you are wondering if this mode is beneficial, the answer is, when you are flying in the “Expert Mode” your controls are going to extremely sensitive. Thus, you may not want to be performing flops as it might lead to a severe crash.

Even so, you can only activate the anti-flip mode if you are flying your quad on Expert Mode. Nevertheless, if you want to see the Hubsan X4 H1107L in action while the anti-flip mode is activated, you can watch the video below.

Transmitter

In this section, we are going to discuss the quad’s transmitter. It is quite standard. It looks like a PS3 controller (modified) with style.

The transmitter comes with an LCD screen, two joysticks (left and right), trim buttons that can be utilized to offset drifting, a power button, and flight modes designed for decreasing or increasing the transmitter’s sensitivity.

Its LCD screen, on the other hand, shows the essential details about your flight. In simplest terms, the trim buttons will aid you to stabilize and adjust your quad while it is flying in the air. Moreover, the two joysticks are essential for controlling the drone.

Let’s not forget to mention that the transmitter is extremely ergonomic, meaning to say it will fit in hand nicely. Not only that, it looks cool.

Even though the official specifications say that you can only fly the Hubsan X4 H107L for up to 30 meters, based on our experience we have been able to operate this quad for up to 50 meters away.

Design and Weight

As what we said a while ago, the Hubsan H107L weighs not more than 30 grams excluding the battery, approximately 28g to be exact. Regardless of its light weight and small size, this fast quad does not lack power.

The Hubsan X4 H107L quadcopter can get going especially when you have got the throttle up. However, one thing you will need to concern about is the excess wind. Just like any other small quads, the Hubsan X4 H107L quadcopter does not do a great job when it comes to fighting the wind.

Keep in mind that one strong wind gust may send your quad hurling to the pavements or ground. With that said, we only recommend flying your quad when the weather condition is optimal.

Either way, from an aesthetic standpoint, there is no doubt the Hubsan X4 H107L looks cool. It sports a black and white body and color-coded props. In addition to that, it is also equipped with rubber feet that are small in size. These are designed to absorbed landings as well as protect the quad’s body.

This drone can be flown aggressively, owing to its lightweight design. However, it is a double-edged sword which makes the quad at risk of getting immovable in the wind.

What’s more, we wanted to mention that it can be flown indoors as well. Granted, it is not as small as CX-10 by Cheerson, you can still operate the Hubsan H107L indoors.

Flight and Charging Time

Perhaps, the first question that you may have about the Hubsan X4 H107L is that how long can it fly. With this quad, you will be expecting a flight time of about nine minutes when fully charged. It is quite surprising, right?

However, your exact flying time usually depends on how hostilely your fly and whether you or not flying in a windy environment. Either way, considering that several similarly-priced quadcopters have lesser flight times, it is straightforward to tell that you are getting an incredible bargain with this model.

As with other RC quadcopters, you may increase your flight time by flying your quad more conservatively, removing other components like the propeller guards, and avoiding the wind.

When it comes to the charging time, the battery of this drone will charge up to its maximum capacity in approximately 40 minutes. However, that is not something special, but it is not very bad either.

However, if you want to fly longer consider extra batteries. After all, they are not that expensive and more importantly, they will allow you to keep on flying after the battery dies.

Unluckily, the most common problem with almost RC quadcopters these days, including the Hubsan X4 H107L, is that they lack good flying time. Nevertheless, we are confident enough that soon this will change. This quad is powered by a 3.7-Volt 240mAh lithium polymer or Li-Po battery.

Performance and Flight

In this part of our review, we are going to talk about the quad’s flying capabilities as well as performance. As what we have said earlier, the Hubsan X4 H107L is a fast quad. However, apart from that, it is also extremely maneuverable, responsive, and agile.

Having that said, if you are looking for at an acrobatic and quick drone that can be bought at a very affordable price, then the Hubsan H107L can be a great option.

If we had to describe its performance using one word, it could be “smooth.” When you press the right side joystick in a particular direction, your device will fly there effortlessly.

LED Lights

With Hubsan X4 H107L, you will surely have the best night time flying experience thanks to its 4 LED lights. Such lights are located on every arm of your quad. Hence, it can fly at nighttime quickly as well.

6-axis gyroscope

Gyro or also known as a gyroscope is an electric device that can sense angular velocity. A six-axis gyro consists of three accelerators as well as three sensors. Yaw, pitch, and roll are the three orientation sensors utilized to navigate your quadcopter.

The three accelerators, on the other hand, are usually used for altitude movement. With this feature, the quad will remain stable even though the operator is a beginner one.

RTF or Ready-to-Fly

When we say ready-to-fly, it means installation is not required though it still comes with a user manual that you can use when changing or replacing damaged parts. Since, it is a “ready to fly” drone, once you receive you will be able to operate it immediately.

This the quad is made and designed for fun and learning, Hubsan backed the X4 H107L one-month limited warranty.
